Chatwell is an assistant that answers on your phone itself. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
The first time you open it, Chatwell brings over the files it needs to answer questions on its own. This happens once and needs a connection, and Wi-Fi is easiest. You can close the app while it happens and it will carry on. After that it works with no connection at all, including in airplane mode.
Chatwell needs about a gigabyte of free space, sometimes more. Deleting some photos or an app you no longer use is usually enough. You can check in your phone's Settings, under General, then iPhone Storage.
Chatwell writes its answers rather than looking them up, so it can be confidently wrong, especially about recent events, numbers, names and dates. Please do not rely on it for medical, legal or financial decisions. If an answer matters, check it.
Open Settings and then About you. Telling it your name, what you spend your time on, and how you would like to be spoken to changes its answers more than anything else. All of it stays on your phone.
Settings, then Look and feel, then Text size. Each option shows itself at its own size so you can see it before you pick it. You can also change the colour and choose light or dark there.
Settings, then Delete every chat. This cannot be undone, and there is no copy anywhere else, so nobody can get them back, including us. Deleting the app removes everything too.
Tap and hold the reply, then Report response. That opens an email to us with a copy of the reply. Nothing is sent until you press send.
